Shuichi Oyama (PI), conducted fieldwork in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, from Wednesday, 24th April to Wednesday, 8th May. He studied the current situation concerning the use of organic materials and the location of unused materials, as well as the applicability of dry composting technology. He started a field experiment in composting by obtaining food scraps from the faculty restaurant on the main campus of the University of Zambia.
